The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the inclusion of twelve additional state government-owned tertiary institutions to its student loan application portal. This expansion brings the total number of participating state-owned institutions from the previously announced 36 to 48, with student data from 121 institutions still outstanding.

In a press statement released by Nasir Ayitogo, NELFUND’s Head of Media and Public Relations, it was noted that this expansion follows the successful submission and verification of required data from the institutions.

During a courtesy visit to Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke of Osun State in Oshogbo on Tuesday, NELFUND Managing Director, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, expressed gratitude to all institutions that have submitted their data. He particularly commended Governor Adeleke for his exemplary leadership in facilitating this process.

NELFUND urged all remaining institutions to submit their student data to the Student Verification Portal (SVS) promptly to enable their students to benefit from the loan scheme. Additionally, institutions whose data have been successfully uploaded were encouraged to sensitize their students to apply for loans, which would provide financial relief for struggling students and ensure steady revenue for the institutions.
