The Abia State Government is putting the mechanism in place to establish Abia State International University of Science and Technology, Aba.
The Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu received the report of the exploratory Committee on the Establishment of the institution in the state.
The Governor after receiving the document, presented by the Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Anya O. Anya at a virtual meeting, said,
“time has come for the people of Abia to embrace science and technology in order to remain relevant in the ever-evolving world.”
He further added that the project will breach an important gap of redefining the state and equally make a way for the present and future generation.
The Governor maintained that he is not oblivious of the huge financial burden that comes with such a massive project, saying that by God’s grace, the idea would see the ‘light of the day’, it will not be abandoned.
Governor Ikpeazu, also extol the virtue of Prof. Anya and his team members for doing a great job, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The Abia State Governor has been working assiduously to ensure total development and transformation of the educational sector.
Recall that Stakeholders in the education sector of Abia State had tentatively scheduled August 10, 2020 for reopening of schools to enable students in exit classes prepare and write their relevant examinations.
