Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, has urged the 33 pioneer students of Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, to become solution providers to Nigeria’s challenges through their academic pursuits.

Speaking at the university’s maiden matriculation ceremony last Saturday, Professor Ogundipe emphasized the importance of persistence, risk-taking, passion, discipline, integrity, and sacrifice in achieving academic and life goals.

Delivering a lecture titled “Paradigm Shift in University Education: The Aletheia University Perspective,” Ogundipe encouraged the university’s management, lecturers, and students to integrate technological innovations into teaching, learning, and research to distinguish the institution.

Professor Amos Olusanya, Vice Chancellor of Aletheia University, also addressed the new students, urging them to pursue excellence and remain focused. He stated, “Today’s event marks the beginning of your intellectual journey at this university. Securing admission into Aletheia University is a reason to celebrate. Stay focused and avoid distractions.”

Olusanya emphasized the university’s commitment to maintaining high standards, requiring students to put in extra effort and adhere to all rules, noting the institution’s zero tolerance for social vices. He also mentioned that all current programs have received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC), with plans to introduce 15 additional courses.

Founder of Aletheia University, Major General Adebanjo Awosanya, advised students against procrastination and highlighted the university’s commitment to technology and critical thinking as keys to addressing Nigeria’s challenges. He assured that the institution would prepare students to be relevant both nationally and internationally upon completion of their studies.
