EducationUSA to Host 23rd Annual College Fair in Nigeria, Featuring Top U.S. Universities
Lagos EducationUSA Nigeria, the U.S. government’s official resource for information on U.S. higher education, is set to host its 23rd annual EducationUSA College Fair from September 17 to 19 in Abuja and Lagos. This event will allow prospective students to engage directly with international admissions officers from 50 top U.S. colleges and universities, including prestigious institutions like Harvard University, Columbia University, George Washington University, Tulane University, and Spelman College. These participating schools represent the geographical diversity of the United States and offer a wide range of academic programs at undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
Attendees will have the chance to interact with international admissions officers, EducationUSA advisers, and U.S. Embassy representatives. They can gain insights into educational opportunities, the student visa application process, financial aid, and the cultural aspects of studying and living in the United States.
“The United States offers world-renowned higher education programs and remains a top destination for international students,” said U.S. Mission Public Diplomacy Counselor Lee McManis. “The upcoming EducationUSA College Fair is an excellent opportunity to explore the incredible educational possibilities available in the United States.”
Nigeria currently sends more students to American colleges and universities than any other African country and ranks as the seventh-largest source of international students in the United States. In the 2022-2023 academic year, over 17,000 Nigerians pursued graduate and undergraduate degrees in the U.S., marking a record-breaking year.
The College Fair will kick off in Abuja on September 17 at the NAF Conference Centre and Suites, continue in Lagos on September 18 at the Ecobank Pan African Center in Victoria Island, and conclude on September 19 at Pistis Hub in Maryland. While participation is free, registration is required.
