Kano State Government Postpones School Resumption for 2024/2025 Session Due to Urgent Reasons
The Kano State Government has postponed the resumption date for primary and secondary schools for the 2024/2025 academic session.
Previously, the government had scheduled schools to reopen on September 9, 2024. However, a new statement issued on Saturday by Balarabe Kiru, the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Ministry of Education, quotes the Commissioner of Education, Umar Doguwa, saying the resumption has been postponed due to urgent reasons.
While the commissioner did not specify the exact reason for the delay, he assured that a new date for resumption would be announced soon. “The previously announced resumption on September 8 and 9, 2024, has been postponed to ensure a more conducive learning environment for our children,” the statement read.
The government also appealed to students, parents, and guardians for their understanding regarding any inconvenience the postponement may have caused.
