Kano Government Distributes Free School Uniforms to 796,000 Pupils

The Kano State Government has announced the start of free school uniform distribution to 796,092 pupils, beginning today (Monday).

The Commissioner for Information, Ibrahim Waiya, shared this in a statement on Sunday, explaining that the initiative is part of Governor Abba Yusuf’s efforts to improve education in the state.

Waiya stated that over 789,000 boys and girls from 7,092 public schools across Kano’s 44 local government areas will receive the uniforms. The program aims to increase school enrollment, give every child access to quality education, and reduce the number of out-of-school children.

He added that the initiative will help parents who may struggle financially to provide for their children’s education. It also highlights the government’s focus on education as a key part of its development agenda.
