NAHCO Expands CSR Efforts with Borehole Projects in Ondo and Lagos States

‎launched five borehole projects—four in Ode-Aye, Ondo State, and one at Adebola Creative Comprehensive College in Morogbo, Badagry, Lagos State.

The Group Managing Director of NAHCO Aviance, Mr. Indranil Gupta, highlighted the company’s commitment to extending its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives beyond its immediate stakeholders. Represented by the Assistant General Manager for Corporate Communications, Mr. Tayo Ajakaye, Gupta emphasized the importance of maintaining the facilities to encourage further donations.

“We look forward to doing more,” Gupta said. “If we return in a year and see these boreholes well-maintained, it will inspire us to expand our efforts to new locations rather than repair existing ones.” He expressed gratitude to the Ode-Aye community for welcoming NAHCO’s initiative, describing it as a way to give back to a broader global community.

The Halu of Aye Kingdom, HRM Oba William Akinmusayo Akinlade, commended NAHCO for its thoughtful gesture, noting that the project would alleviate the community’s water challenges, particularly as the dry season begins. Chief Kayode Adebusoye, High Chief Petu of Aye Kingdom, and Project Coordinator Sir Soji Aguda also expressed appreciation, assuring NAHCO of the community’s commitment to safeguarding the facilities.

The solar-powered boreholes are part of NAHCO’s holistic approach to sustainable development.

At the commissioning of the borehole at Adebola Creative Comprehensive College in Badagry, Gupta, again represented by Ajakaye, explained the importance of such interventions in addressing challenges faced by schools. The project also included a 3.5kVA generator to provide reliable electricity for the school’s activities, including powering computer labs and digital learning tools.

Prince Adegbehin Adetarami, CEO of the school, expressed gratitude, noting that the donation would ensure access to clean water and uninterrupted electricity, addressing critical needs for the institution. “NAHCO has not only quenched our thirst for clean water but has illuminated our path to a brighter future,” he said.

The Divisional Police Officer of Morogbo Division, CSP Adekunle Olaitan, applauded NAHCO for instilling a sense of social responsibility in the students, while Dr. Okedusi Olorunsola, Chairman of the school’s Parents Teachers Association, described NAHCO’s CSR model as a blueprint for other organizations.

NAHCO’s borehole projects reflect its commitment to sustainable community development, reinforcing its role as a socially responsible corporate entity.
