SQI College of ICT Awards ₦2.4 Million Scholarship to Ogbomoso’s Top UTME Performer

SQI College of ICT has awarded a ₦2.4 million scholarship to Olalude David Ayodeji, the top performer in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in Ogbomoso Local Government Areas (LGAs). Ayodeji, who scored an impressive 341, will use the scholarship for a 12-month professional training in Robotics Engineering at SQI’s AI and Robotics Research Centre.
The scholarship was presented during a surprise visit to Deeper Life High School, where Ayodeji is a student. The academic team from SQI College of ICT congratulated Ayodeji, his parents, and the school for this exceptional achievement. Dr. Adegbenro Sunday Ajani, the Rector of the College, reaffirmed SQI’s dedication to nurturing talent and preparing students for success in the global tech industry.
Dr. Ajani highlighted SQI College’s mission since its founding in 2008 to develop skilled technology professionals. He mentioned that the institution has trained over 15,000 students in various ICT fields, with alumni securing positions at top companies like Google, Microsoft, MTN, and Interswitch. He encouraged students to pursue similar paths, emphasizing the importance of ICT education in job creation and national development.
In 2021, SQI College of ICT was accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to offer Innovation Enterprise Institution (IEI) programs, awarding National Innovation Diplomas (NID) in areas such as Computer Software and Hardware Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Robotics, Cybersecurity, UI/UX Design, and Digital Marketing.
