UNIBEN lecturer faces serious sexual accusations

University of Benin Philosophy lecturer, Anthony Asekhauno, faces serious accusations of sexual harassment from current and former students.
The allegations began on social media when user CHIKAMMA (AlexVivyNnabue) shared her experience, stating:
“Tony Asekhuno failed my logic course deliberately three times until he raped me in his office in my final year and gave me a C. I kept failing because I refused to date him.
They even made him HOD and allowed him to do whatever he liked. He didn’t let my set have an official dinner because he wanted us to pay him for it.”
Another user, Akanimoh25, confirmed Asekhuno’s identity by sharing a screenshot of his LinkedIn profile, to which CHIKAMMA responded affirmatively.
Following CHIKAMMA’s post, another user, Fyi Peters, recounted a similar experience of attempted rape by Asekhuno. This same man almost raped me and my friend in his office on a Sunday evening. My friend wanted to transfer to the faculty of law. We had just finished our first year when he called and demanded we visit his office.
Despite it not being a lecture day, my friend convinced me to go with her. Once there, he separated us and took my friend upstairs.
When I called her, she was crying and told me he was calling for me. Fortunately, he didn’t lock the door, and I was able to avoid further assault.”
Azeta Sonia also shared her ordeal with Asekhuno:
“Funny how I kept having missing scripts that I had to rewrite until my third year because of this same man. My offense was not following him to the staff club. When Dr. Odia became HOD, I saw the results for the missing scripts just as I was about to re-register the course.
Dr. Odia cleared the results for me. And until I left the department, I was very wary of all the lecturers. The crazy part is, they all knew what Asekhuno did but minded their own business.”

Another user, PinkRubbiez, commented:
“Anything they said that Tony did, multiply it by 200. He’s the most depraved of them.
Some of you were the ones helping lecturers identify the girls in your class, matching names, faces, and matric numbers. It won’t end well for you either.”
These accusations follow a previous post by
CHIKAMMA in October 2019:
“Tony Asekhauno. A recurring molester, rapist, and abuser. Dept of Philosophy. We suffered.”
The allegations against Asekhauno highlight ongoing concerns about sexual harassment within academic institutions.
