Gov Bago reduces registration fees for Niger University students

Minna, Niger State — In a move to ease the financial burden on parents and students following the removal of the fuel subsidy, Niger State Governor Umaru Bago has approved a 50% reduction in registration fees for all students at Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna. This decision, announced in a statement signed by the Pro-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Muhammed Yahaya Kuta, was made public on Friday in Minna.

Governor Bago’s initiative aims to alleviate the growing economic challenges faced by parents and students. “This decision is intended to mitigate the impact of the current economic hardships on dedicated students and their families, who are affected by the removal of the fuel subsidy and the resulting economic strain,” the Governor stated.

The 50% fee reduction applies to all students enrolled in regular courses for the ongoing 2023/2024 academic session. Governor Bago expressed his congratulations to the students, parents, and the people of Niger State on this development, hoping for their continued support and cooperation with the current administration.

Furthermore, the Governor urged the beneficiaries of this initiative to show their appreciation by committing more diligently to their studies, contributing to the development of the state and the broader society.
