NECO RELEASES 2021 SSCE RESULTS

As 878,925 Candidates Score Credits in English, Mathematics

The National Examination Council (NECO), has announced the release of the results of the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination ( SSCE).which was conducted in July 2021.

NECO Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Dantali Wushishi, made this known while addressing newsmen in Minna, explained that candidates who made five credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics are 1, 226,796 representing 94.04 percent.

He said a total of 1,233,631 registered, while 1,226,796 actually sat for the exams, with a total of 878,925 candidates scoring credits and above including Mathematics and English Language, representing 71.64 percent.

According to the NECO boss, a total of 20,003 candidates were involved in various exams malpractices, representing 1.63 percent, compared to 33,470 representing 2.61 percent cases recorded in 2020.

Wushishi said that candidates involved in various forms of malpractices in 2021 was 20,003, representing 1.63 per cent, whereas 33,470 representing 2.63 per cent cases were recorded in 2020.

The registrar also reiterated the council’s zero tolerance for examination malpractices as he revealed that appropriate standards and excellence were maintained right from the planning stage to the release of the results. He however attributed the delay in the release of the results to both internal and external candidates to challenges facing the organization.

It would be recalled that  a total of 1.22 million (1,221,447) people registered for the examination. These include 665,830 males and 555,617 females, with further breakdown showing that the number of candidates who made five Credits and above including English Language and Mathematics is 894,101, representing 73.89 per cent.
