JAMB releases additional 531 UTME results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made a significant move by releasing the results of 531 candidates whose scores were previously withheld. This comes after an initial withholding of 64,624 results due to ongoing investigations into suspected misconduct, verification issues, procedural irregularities, and center-based investigations.

In a statement signed by JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, it was revealed that the Board has completed the screening of the over 64,000 withheld results and decided to release an additional 531 results. This brings the total number of released results to 1,842,897. However, during the screening process, the Board also identified additional cases of examination misconduct, bringing the total tally from 81 to 92.

The statement also addressed false publications claiming that an unknown candidate who did not sit for the 2024 UTME obtained scores. JAMB denounced these publications as fake and malicious attempts to undermine the integrity of the Board. It emphasized that the examination template is designed with the highest sense of responsibility and is not a platform for distributing scores to candidates. The Board urged the public to disregard such irresponsible publications and warned against disclosing classified details to third parties.

Furthermore, JAMB highlighted the methods used by mischief makers to fabricate false claims, including copying results sent to other candidates and editing the details to present them as genuine. The Board challenged anyone with such claims to come forward with details and phone numbers for verification.

To enhance the integrity of its systems, JAMB announced plans to add more features like registration numbers to the UTME checking result process. Candidates were urged to securely keep their details to avoid being associated with mischievous elements, as collaboration would lead to severe consequences.

As of now, the method of checking the 2024 UTME results remains sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019, and not through any other process. The Board emphasized that the results are not available on its website at the moment.
