2021 utme: Aggrieved Parents Laments Over JAMB Failure.

Parents of children, who sat for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Saturday, have expressed their dissatisfaction and displeasure with the conduct of the exam.

Few parents, who spoke with NAN at YABMA International Science Academy, Lokoja, expressed disappointment for the delay in the instigation of the examination.

Pastor Igwe Liberty, a parent told NAN that the UTME which was expected to start at 7 a.m. did not take off until around 11 am due to system error according to the school management.

”We had thousands of students waiting under the sun to write the UTME exam that was supposed to start by 7 am, but it never started till around quarter past 11 am.

”We were told this same problem happened during the last Mock examination.

”So, our own apprehension is that if the same thing happened during mock exam and JAMB were not able to rectify it until the main exam, then, it calls for a great concern on the plight of our children,” Liberty said.

He urged the JAMB Registrar to ensure that they station impartial supervisors for proper monitoring of centers for the sake of their children.

Another parent, Mr. Ovim Ochechi, lamented that the happenings at the JAMB center were the saddest experience to Nigerian academics, adding that it was a deception of trust from JAMB.

”I think JAMB must have to be particular about this center this time around, so that we can know where the problem is coming from,” Ochechi stressed.

Recall that the 2021 UTME started on 19, June 2021, and is set to run till the 3rd of July, 2021.
