Ekiti State Governor Appoints Principal Officers for Bamidele Olumilua University

The Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has approved the appointment of principal officers to run the affairs of the newly established Bamidele Olumilua University of Science and Technology, Ikere, Ekiti State.

This was disclosed in a release on the official Twitter handle of the state government, by the Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode.

The Principal officers who were appointed are, Prof. O.V. Adeoluwa (Vice-Chancellor); Mr. Ojo Olurotimi Gbenga (Registrar); Mr. Akpata Babatunde Abioye (Bursar); and Mr. Oyebaju C.O. (Librarian).

The statement added that the appointments are with immediate effect.

Recall that the University of Education, Science, and Technology (UESTI), Ikere-Ekiti State, was signed into law by Governor Kayode Fayemi, on October 16, 2020.

However, the Ekiti State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, passed a bill to amend the law of the newly established university and renamed it after a late former governor of old Ondo State, Bamidele Olumilua.

The University, which was recently changed from College of Education, Ikere Ekiti, is now known as the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, after being assented to by governor Kayode Fayemi.
