The Lagos State Government has approved Monday, January 18, 2020, as the resumption date for all public and private schools below the tertiary level.
The resumption marks the commencement of the 2020/21 academic session’s second term.
The Commissioner for Education, Folasade Adefisayo, made the announcement in a statement on Monday.
Adefisayo said the reopening was in line with the Federal Government’s directive.
She urged schools to comply with all the COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, while also calling on them to have flexible plans for students and teachers who feel sick, but can teach or learn from home via available online platforms.
The Commissioner, enjoined teachers, students, and visitors to always wear face masks, observe physical distancing, regular handwashing with soap, and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State Government, had on 18 December 2020, directed all public and private schools in the state, to go on vacation.
