Looters Invades NYSC Camp
The National Youth Service Corp Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja, has been invaded by hoodlums carted away with mattresses and other valuables.
The hoodlums armed with knives and other dangerous weapons, barricade the road, preventing motorist access.
Residents in the neighborhood also took advantage of the situation to partake in the looting.
Meanwhile, in an effort to salvage the situation, soldiers rent the air of the camp with gunshots to scare away the looters.
Investigation revealed that the thugs gained entrance into the premises by scaling the fence which caught soldiers guiding the facilities unaware.
This incident, marked the third day miscreants have been going around attacking warehouse where they believed COVID-19 palliatives are stored.
They had attacked some warehouse at the Idu Industrial Estate, Jabi on Sunday and Monday. They also invaded a warehouse in Gwagwalada belonging to the FCT administration.
In related development, the NYSC has directed its State Coordinator to liase with security agencies in their respective state to beef up security presence to ward off potential attacks by hoodlums who might be invading them in search of hidden COVID-19 palliatives.
