The age at which an individual may give effective consent to sexual intercourse is commonly set in most country at between 14 and 18 years (though it is as low as 12 years in some countries). Sexual intercourse with a person below these ages is termed statutory rape
However statutory rape has become almost an everyday incident in Nigeria, with most of the culprit not been prosecuted and the victim not getting justice.

Mr. Samuel Ejikeme, proprietor of the school, allegedly raped a 9-year old girl and confessed on tape. We’re yet to establish if there are other victims.
She added that it is really troubling to hear that an administrators and teachers who are suppose to the pillars of support and protection to our wards are turning predatory.
Please parents should speak more to their daughters and sons to ease exposure of these beasts in human skin.
