PTF: January 18 School Resumption Date Still Viable
The National Coordinator of Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Dr. Sani Aliyu has stated that schools in the country will resume on January 18 as scheduled, until the Ministry of Education announces a new date.
Aliyu confirmed this while featuring on TVC on Tuesday.
The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, on Monday, said that due to the second wave of COVID-19, Federal Government would review the date fixed for primary and secondary school resumption across the nation.
However, Aliyu clarified that Adamu did not confirm a change of the date
Aliyu said, “As regards schools, I just want to make a clarification, what the minister said yesterday was that they were going to review, he didn’t say that they were going to change the date. He said they will review the situation and let the nation know.
“So, for the moment, it is still 18th January until the Ministry of Education comes back either with an alternative date or reconfirms that.”
Recall that EDUCARE News , yesterday, reported that the Federal Minister for Education, Adamu Adamu said that the Ministry will review the scheduled date for resumption of schools across the country, in line with the COVID-19 guideline.
