WAEC Denies Report of Leaked Mathematics paper on Social Media

The Head of Public Affairs of WAEC, Mr Demianus Ojijeogu, denied the claim, and said the answers in circulation which were thought to be leaked from Mathematics subject written on Monday were fake.

“No, it’s not true. They were fake Scammers photo shopped past question papers to sway gullible candidates,” he said while reacting to speculations that the paper was exposed.

Ojijeogu explained that candidates writing the examination across the country this year began their Mathematics papers on Monday.

There was wide spread speculations on social media on Sunday, that the Mathematics paper which was scheduled to hold on Monday, August 17 has been leaked.

.Before the commencement of the examination, candidates’ temperature were checked, hand sanitiser were provided, and candidates were mandated to put on their face mask before they are allowed to gain entrance into the examination halls.

Recall that the West African Senior School Certificate Examination ( WASSCE)  is coming four months behind schedule as a result of the coronavirus Pandemic in the country, with candidates, teachers, and exam officials adhering strictly to the COVID-19 Protocols.
