Abia State Governor Appoints Acting Secretary of SEMB

The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the appointment of Mr. Christopher C. Osuagwu as Acting Executive Secretary of the Secondary Education Management Board (SEMB).

The appointment was contained in a press statement on Thursday, issued by Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Chris Ezem.

The statement reads in part: “Untill this appointment, Mr. Osuagwu was the Deputy Executive Secretary of SEMB, Aba zone.

“This appointment is with immediate effect.”

In a related development, the composition of the Secondary Education Management Board has been approved by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Members of the Board include; Dr. Ogbonnaya Ememe, Sir Ismael Olewe, Mrs Pauline Anyanwu, Dr. Sunny Orie and Dr. Mrs Nwakaego Uwadi.

Recall that stake-holders in the education sector in Abia State tentatively fixed August 10, 2020, for reopening of schools to enable students in exit classes prepare and write relevant examination.

However, the reopening is subject to verifiable compliance with all the proposed COVID-19 Prevention and Control measures agreed at the summit that was convoked by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
