Afenifere Ask President Buhari To Sack Education Minister

The Pan-Yoruba Socio-Political group, Afenifere has called for the sack of the Minister of Education, for planning to halt the Education sector for a year.

The group while condemning the decision of the Federal Government to reverse on its earlier plan to reopen schools for graduating students (SS3, JSS3,and Primary 6) asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu.

The Secretary  General of the Association Bashorun Sehinde in his statement argued that the government should have allowed pupils to resume and provide preventive measures that will protect them from contracting the disease.

He said:”Adamu Adamu should be sacked, he cannot bring our school system back to the stone age. They had about six months to plan for these children, what did the Federal Government do?

It means the two of them (Adamu and the Minister of State for Education) don’t know what they are doing, so they should go. I think the two ministers in the ministry should go. Why would one say the pupils should resume to take their paper in August, and the other minister would come and reverse the order?”

It would be recalled that at the end of the virtual Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, the Federal Government, through the minister of Education, Adamu Adamu announced that schools under the control of the Federal Government will not be allowed to resume, hence, graduating SS3 student who are preparing to write WASSCE will miss out of the exams.
