Online Exams Begins at Bowen Varsity

As the Federal Government continue to shutdown schools due to the COVID-19 pandemic, academic calendar remain un-interrupted at Bowen University, as the institution begins its second semester examination online.

The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, stated that the second semester 2019/2020 will be in phases, the first phase started on Monday, June 1, 2020.

In a statement by the institution’s Head of Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Mr. Toba Adaramola hinted that the guidelines for the online exam have been published on the university’s website.

Toba also advised the student not to be distracted during the online examination, while urging parents to support their wards.

He further explained that students who are yet to pay their fees would be exempted from taking part in the exam, but they can participate at a later date after completing their fees.

Toba had strong words for students who will want to engage in exam malpractice

“Students are reminded that the university has zero-tolerance for examination malpractices and irregularities, and are further asked not to block the cameras of their computers while the examination is on going”

The management of Bowen university had in march given directive to Academic Staff to begin online classes, using the Bowen Smart School Hub (SSHUB), a platform designed for robust learning,  uploading of materials and interacting with the students in real-time.
