JAMB Plans to Hold Another UTME for Candidates with Genuine Registration Challenges

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has hinted it may conduct a second 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, for candidates with genuine registration challenges.

This disclosure was made by the Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede who spoke to reporters Wednesday in Lagos, during the monitoring profiling candidates.

Oloyede said 17,758 candidates with challenges have been interviewed nationwide.

“We may have to conduct another examination for those with genuine cases after the main UTME slated for June 19 to July 3,” he said.

He noted that some candidates admitted they did not have money to procure UTME forms.

Oloyede said in some cases, applicants sent their NIN to 55012 instead of 55019.

“Others sent the same command with post-paid phones rather than pre-paid,” he added.

The JAMB boss reiterated the board’s commitment to give every Nigerian an equal opportunity.

Recall that had stated it will only extend the registration closing date for the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the Direct Entry (DE) for those with genuine proof.
