Lagos Schools Second Term to Last 61 Days

The office of the Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), has released the revised calendar for the 2020/2021 academic session.

The second term of the 2020/2021 session is scheduled to last for 61 days for public and private schools in Lagos, which is slated to run from January 18, 2021, to April 30.

The mid-term break is fixed for March 4 and 5, while there will be two public holidays- Good Friday on April 2, and Easter Monday on April 5.

However, resumption for the third term has been scheduled for May 4, with the term to terminate on August 6.

This academic calendar is subject to any alteration that may occur as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic currently ravaging the global community, which may force schools to be shut down again, amid fears of a spike in the second wave.

Despite the confusion that trails the January 18, 2021 resumption date for schools, most schools in Lagos and other states in the country finally resumed, amid fears of a spike in the second wave, as the country continues to fight against the spread of coronavirus disease.
